Bartlett book being published in Russia

Although I’ve taken a break from this blog for a while, I’d like to make a happy announcement today. Unchained Man: The Arctic Life and Times of Captain Robert Abram Bartlett is being published in Russia. The book’s Canadian publisher, Boulder Publications, is working with Paulsen in Moscow and Paris to bring out a Russian edition of Unchained Man.

Bartlett aficionados and readers of Unchained Man already understand the significance of Russia in Bartlett’s life. The Siberian Coast was, after all, perhaps the most welcome sight Bartlett had ever seen, he and young Claude Kataktovick having struggled hundreds of miles over the Arctic ice to effect a rescue of the Karluk survivors stranded on Wrangel Island.

I’d like to welcome new readers to the blog. Hang in there til I get back and, meanwhile, enjoy the previous entries. It’ll be exciting to get feedback from Russian readers of Unchained Man in the next year or two.

Best wishes,

Maura Hanrahan
